Each patient perceives ICD therapy differently. Many patients describe their shock as "if they had been punched in the chest", others report mild discomfort and in rare cases some don’t even notice it.
Since shock therapy can be delivered in different strengths, not all therapies may feel the same. Any discomfort associated with shock therapy typically will last for only a very short time.
